You may choose to enjoy your retirement in an apartment or a garden home. Both options provide you with a maintenance-free lifestyle. Our professional staff handles all maintenance of your residence, such as appliance repairs and changing of air filters, etc. You can enjoy a hassle-free living experience without worrying about the upkeep. When needs arise, you simply call the concierge to put in a work order and we do the rest. Concierge services, controlled access and 24-hour first responders provide an extra layer of security and convenience for all of our residents.
All Independent Living residences include full size appliances and a stackable washer/dryer. We have a deeply discounted contract rate for cable/wifi service. Let’s explore the differences between apartment and garden home living:
Apartment Living:
- A Variety of Floor Plans: Our 13 apartment floor plans have unique features, allowing you to choose the space that best suits your needs. Some prefer the higher ceilings, while others may long for a private balcony.
- Dining Plans: Monthly rates for apartment residents include one main meal per day for each resident. Complimentary coffee and pastry pairings are also provided each morning.
- Housekeeping Services: Bi-weekly housekeeping services are provided by our friendly staff.
- Community Living: Apartments typically offer a more communal living experience. Residents share common areas such as hallways, lobbies, and social spaces.
- Utilities Included: Monthly fees include all utility expenses.
- Close Proximity: Apartments are situated within our larger complex, making it easier to access on-site amenities and events without having to leave the building
Garden Home Living:
- Privacy and Space: Garden homes provide a more private and spacious living experience. Enjoy more outdoor space, such as a backyard or patio.
- Yard and Landscaping: Lawncare and landscaping is provided by The University of Alabama. With a garden home, you have the freedom to personalize your outdoor space with potted plants. Should you enjoy more gardening, you can reserve a raised bed in the community garden area.
- Garage and Driveway: Each garden home comes with a one car garage, offering convenient parking right at your doorstep. Driveways have ample space for an additional vehicle.
- Utilities Not Included: Power and Gas bills are at the resident’s expense.
- Neighborhood Living: Garden homes are an excellent choice for those who are ready to reduce the burden of managing a large home while still experiencing the benefits of a neighborhood.
Whichever option you choose, we’re committed to providing a comfortable and enjoyable living experience. Your decision between an apartment and a garden home ultimately depends on your lifestyle preferences and needs.
